Properties for sale 'increased in price in 2010'
The price of properties for sale increased over the year, a report
has found.
According to Communities and Local Government's House Price Index
for 2010, there was a rise in the value of houses for sale of 5.9
per cent in England.
These are slightly lower than last month's results, which found
that year-on-year to September 2010, costs grew by 6.5 per cent in
England.
However, October's figures also showed that average prices rose by
9.1 per cent in Wales over the year, while there was a decline of
8.9 per cent in Northern Ireland and 0.4 per cent in
Scotland.
The average increase in home prices across the UK during this
period was found to be 5.5 per cent.
Findings also showed that the average cost of a mix-adjusted
property in Britain was £209,466 at the end of October, with
new properties going for 4.4 per cent more than during the same
period the year before.
