Findings reveal increase in tenants looking for properties to rent
Recent findings have shown that there has been an increase in the
number of tenants looking for properties to rent.
According to a report released today (July 20th) by Countrywide,
more than 50,480 tenants signed up to rental accommodation during
the second quarter of 2010.
This signifies an increase of 16 per cent since the start of the
year.
Research also found that June saw the greatest rise in the number
of tenants looking to rent properties, with more than 18,000 people
registering an interest in rental accommodation in one month
alone.
Speaking about the changes, LettingZone's Mark Garner said: "Demand
will keep on increasing and unfortunately supply is lagging behind
it, so the pressure on rents will go up and [therefore] rents will
go up over time, definitely."
This will come as good news to landlords as an increase in demand
for properties is likely to benefit their rental incomes.
FindaProperty's research supports this after it revealed that
rental fees increased by 2.3 per cent in June, taking the average
rental price to £839.
